About Electric Floor Heating and How It Operates

Electric floor heating is a great alternative to forced air heating systems. This is because unlike the conventional air heating, the electric underfloor heating system using electricity offers even and luxurious warmth.

In the electric floor heating method, electric cables are installed under the floor and they generate heat with electricity as the source of energy. It is more like a warm blanket being placed underneath your feet for cozy warmness that gradually permeates your entire body.

The installation of electric heated floors involves sandwiching fluoropolymer insulated heating cables between two layers of specially reinforced aluminum foil. The trick lies in uniform spacing of these cables to get even heating even in the nook and corners of your home. The electric cables used in this form of heating are available in various standard lengths that are prefabricated and tested for quality in a carefully controlled factory environment. This system of heating works best in concrete floors, rather than wooden floors. The reason is simple, concrete floors absorb more heat compared to their wooden counterparts.
